Martin Thomas withdrew from his appointment as chair of the Charity Commission, after allegations in the Times that he had behaved inappropriately while running Women for Women International.
Charities now have serious concerns about the due diligence of the recruitment process. And it also emerged that Thomas has links to the prime minister, Boris Johnson.
The Good Law Project has written to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) demanding transparency about the process, and what had been disclosed.
