Radio station invites charities to apply to be on the show

Great British Radio (GBR) is launching a regular slot for charities to be interviewed. The new radio station was launched last month by Mike Osman and was backed financially by plumbing entrepreneur Charlie Mullins.

GBR plans to schedule a regular slot called Shine a Light, where actress Linda Lusardi will interview registered charities and other non-profits about the work they do.

Shine a Light launches on 24 May with an interview with Debbie Pezzani, the co-founder of Teens Unite, a charity based in Hertfordshire that supports young people who have been diagnosed with cancer.

GBR will be accepting applications from charities to the slot on a rolling basis. The feature will be weekly to start, but may increase to more slots per week depending on merit, a spokesperson told Civil Society News.

GBR is available to listen to online and on the DAB+ network across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and South and North London.
