Steel Charitable Trust: Grants of up to £25,000 available to charities

Charities are being urged to apply for grants worth up to £25,000 being made available from the Steel Charitable Trust.

The grants are being made available to charities that operate in one of the trust’s five core areas:

• Arts and Heritage

• Education

• Environment

• Health

• Social or Economic Disadvantage

Grants will be made of between £2,500 and £25,000. Those receiving larger grants, of £20,000 or more, are being asked to write a follow up report within 10 months of payment.

Most grants will be a single payment, although in some cases larger grants may be awarded in instalments over a number of years.

The money is available for capital projects and core costs, as well as specific projects and research programme. The trust has stressed that it will not fund initiatives that promote religion.

The deadline for applications is 20 April.
