Two British charities tackling racial injustice have promised to make reparations after a report found they were set up with proceeds from slavery.
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, which were prominent critics of the recent Sewell report on race in Britain, apologised yesterday for being indirect beneficiaries of the slavery.
