Tuesday 18th May / 2.00 to 4.00pm / Online event
Making the transition from idea to organisation can feel like a difficult leap. The way your new organisation is structured, the type of legal status you adopt, and the regulator you report to will all affect the way you need to run things, your access to funding, and the way you are perceived.
For many staff members and even for some trustees, the legal and structural aspects of running a voluntary organisation are somewhat hazy, and once the basics are in place it’s all too easy to forget to go back and check what else might be necessary or possible.
This informal workshop will take you through the basics of organisational structures, governance and regulation and update you on some of the practical changes that have now started to come through since the Charities Act 2006, including the creation of the new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
